Back to where it all started… In 2004, Doc Brown had burst onto the scene as the enigmatic host of the infamous Deal Real Friday Nite Live and was busy battling at the Jump Off when he first found national acclaim for his remix of “Mad World”, the 2004 Christmas number 1 taken from the Donnie Darko soundtrack. The remix quickly became a collector’s item on vinyl, but also featured on this, Doc’s now classic first official mix CD, “Citizen Smith, Volume 1”.

Re-released and re-mastered, Volume 1 is no rushed mismatch of verses and freestyles laid on overused US beats- this is a collection of full length songs and radio exclusives, with original production from (amongst others): SWAY DASAFO, THE SEA, NUTTY P, DJ SNIPS and introducing: BUDGIE.

Alongside national smash “Donnie’s Lament” (The “Mad World” Remix) and a host of classic cuts with creative, conceptual lyricism, the CD also features a draft pick of promising UK talent including: YUNGUN, MR TI2BS, LOWKEY, PYRELLI, LUC SKYZ and POISONOUS POETS.
